Absolution is an American nu metal band formed in Wilkes-Barre,Pennsylvania, in early 2003. The current band line up includes five members: Mark Wojtkiewicz, Tom Godin II, Brian "B-Man" McDonald, Jay Green, and Will Perna. The band is a melting pot of former NEPA and Central, Pennsylvania area bands.[1] They have shared the stage with such notable acts as: Nonpoint, Drowning Pool, Sick Puppies, Otep, IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, RED, Tantric, Ourafter, Adema, Burn Halo.

Absolution formed in 2003, by drummer Tom Godin II.[2] The band started out making a name for themselves on the cover band circuit, playing rare, B side songs by: Tool, Sevendust, Faith No More, Pantera, Korn, Rage Against The Machine, System of a Down, just to name a few. The line up, which consisted of Tom Godin, Jason Bogert, Joe Gerbino, and Chad Pitcher, decided to start the process of writing and recording a demo album entitled "what Lies Beneath" which was never released. Upon working on the artwork, Chad Pitcher(lead vocals) had decided to leave Absolution to pursue graphics and video editing. Chad Pitcher remains friends(brothers) with Absolution to this day. That's when Mark Wojtkiewicz stepped in to take the reins as lead vocals. Absolution started pretty much over with the addition of the new vocalist (Wojtkiewicz).

The band has gone through several member changes over the years. But has found the right elements to create the band that is actively touring and recording. Their third studio album The Other Side of Nothing is set to hit shelves early spring 2011.

  2. ^ since the early days of the band, Tom Godin II had a vision of making positive music for everyone to relate to. This is still evident in the currnet songs. Absolution took its name from a seemingly negative song entitled "noabsolution", showing the "ying and yang" of creative, positive music. Hence most of the internet sites still in use today have noabsolution in the address.
